It is more important to choose friends that have fun with than to choose friends that will help you when you need them.

Everyone needs friends that could share sorrow and happiness in the life. Do you like making friends? Do you have such friends? A hot and important controversy centering on the issue concerns whether it is more important to choose friends that have fun with than to choose friends that will help you when you need them. A proportion of people oppose that, other people, nevertheless, advocate that. As far as I'm concerned, I side with the former for the following reasons.

First, coming across some economic difficulties that need a large amount of money immediately, people who have good friends with plentiful money could go through the hard time easily with the help from friends.Take my family for example, my grandmother got an acute disease one night five years ago. After arriving at the hospital near our house, we were told that the operation must be done after we gathered enough money for it. We couldn't borrow enough money because it was too late, but the operation can't be delayed. Suddenly thinking of my uncle, a good friend of my father, my father called to him. Without an additional word, my uncle came to the hospital and solved the problem for my family. Through such a matter, the relationship between my father and his friend improved largely because he saved my grandmother when our family sank into a dangerous period.

Second, friends who have the same interest with you and usually play with you may not real friends probably because they don't have the ability to guide you and provide a practical advice for you when you need them. If you are staying in the confusion period in your life, you will feel the advantages of choosing a friend who can help you. For instance, before I came to Beijing for my further study, I had hesitated whether I should take the chance to enter a university in Beijing for rather a long time, resulting from my fear to face an unfamiliar city without a relative or even a friend. At that time, my best friend, MoMo, instructed me to accept that valuable opportunity bravely without any doubt. Her reason was that entering a better university in the capital would help me find a wonderful job and improve my competitive power after graduating from university, and that I could make new friends in the college and wouldn't feel lonely. Hearing her words, I made a big decision that makes me happy even today.
 
    Admittedly, many people obtain a lot from their friends who have fun with them and sustain stable friendships with such friends. For example, when they have nothing to do in the weekends, they could make a call to friends and hike or play football together. We can see that there are still many benefits to make friends who have fun with them. However, even such friends will offer you help when you need them, because if you beg them to do something they could, but they don't do that for you, you won't continue to make friends with them just for fun. What's more is that people could have with any people even with strangers.

In conclusion, choosing friends who can help you when you need them is more important than choosing friends who just have fun with you, because such a friend could not only offer economic aids, but also lead you to a brighter future and be your real friend living in your heart. A saying says that a friend in need is a friend in deed, and we will find that people who we consider good friends are always people who helped us in the past when we needed them.
